LOCATION
Evia is the second largest island in Greece after Crete. The island is it is about 180 kilometers (110 mi) long, and varies in breadth from 50 kilometers (31 mi) to 6 kilometers (3.7 mi). Evia has much to offer from the hot springs of Edipso at the northernmost part of the island, to the antiquities in Eretria, to the peak of the 1,743 m peak of Mt. Dirfys which is commonly snowcapped in the winter.
Although Evia is one of the lesser known islands to visitors from outside of Greece, it is a very popular vacation home location for Athenians due to its proximity to Athens.
The Aspri Villa is located approximately 90 km from central Athens and can be reached in a little over an hour using the A1 National Road. Athens International Airport is approximately 110 km away and 90 minutes from Aspri Villa. On the western side of Evia, the island is connected to the mainland by a bridge to Evia’ s capital city of Chalkis.
Golden Visa Program:
The Greek government offers the lowest real estate investment level of any European residency program.
Applicants gain the right to live in Greece although there is no requirement to do this. With the residency card all family members will have freedom to travel to and throughout the EU Schengen visa zone with ease and without further visa applications. If the resident sells the property to another non-EU citizen, the Greek residency becomes transferable to the new investor.
Applicants who live in Greece can apply for citizenship and a passport after seven years. Once applicants have citizenship then they are free to dispose of their investment as further visa renewals are not necessary. Because of the need to reside in the country the Greek golden visa program is considered a residency investment program rather than citizenship by investment. However the option for citizenship is there for those committed to living in Greece.
